Farlyn I love the shading you used on your robin! The distinction between the wings and body is perfect and the texture on the wings helps them stand out so well!
Yes, Elizabeth! I agree-I love these sessions and always find them relaxing and fun even when my “masterpiece” isn’t quite as perfect as I hope. Your robin on the other hand is perfection today! Very nice work!
Kyle Andrade what a great job! The shading on the wings is perfect and I love the distinction between the head and body. He/she looks like they are ready to take off in flight-as if they see something above them that is capturing their attention!
Lyndsey, bluebirds/bluejays are my favorite birds! (long standing childhood memories attached to this) Thank you so much for sharing. I love that you made today’s drawing your own! Nice work!
I’m so glad I was able to join this class! I have never done shading before and I learned lots of techniques even the first time I came. I hope to attend again in the future.
We are so glad you joined too, Nick! I have also learned so much from Shivani’s classes. We hope you will join us again. You did a great job with your robin and I can tell that you picked up on the shading techniques quickly-way to go!

Thank you so much Shivani! I love these sessions ☺️
Ooooh Srush! i love the addition of the tree branch in the background and the rock that your robin is standing on. I was so busy focused on the shading (which you did amazing with by the way-and I love the way you shaped the wings) that I didn’t even think to add additional background features! Note to self…think like Shrush next time!

Thank you for a lovely afternoon drawing together!
Amanda Bunch you did an incredible job with the feathers! I think the way your shaped them and placed them in different directions adds such a sense of realisms to your sketch. The other feature that stands out to me is the lighter area just underneath your bird’s eye and cheek. Amazing work!
Deon Big Mac is simply perfect! I love the different perspective you took from the original sketch and the little feather tuft on the top of his head adds such a sense of personality! So cute!
Tara, yes, I agree these sessions are always wonderful! It was definitely a nice way to spend the time! And your drawing is incredible. I am particularly drawn to the expression in his eye, the shading on his beak, and the tiny light area at the top of his head. Way to go!
Kulsoom, I love that you and your daughter attended the session together! Please tell her that I am impressed by the texture she added to the wings of her bird and the shading around the eye. The flowers in the grass are also a nice touch! You also did an amazing job shading from the eye area into the neck of your bird and the texture you added on the wings of your robin really make them stand out!

Thank you for such a wonderful and relaxing activity Shivani. It was a fun new experience. Everyone did so good. Thank you:)
Aubrie so cute that your robin found a snack! You did great with your sketch and I notice that you even managed to capture a shadow underneath your bird in the grass-was that intentional?
Tien-Li I have been attending Shivani’s sessions for almost 2 years now and like you I really like them! We hope you will join again in July and for many future sessions to come!

This was an amazing de-stressing session. Thank you.
Hina and Manoj thank you so much for sharing your sketches with us! Manoj-I love that you left the guidelines-it definitely gives a sense of authenticity and human touch. Hina, the layering and texture in your robin’s wings is perfect, and his eye has a sense of depth to it that gives him such personality!

I experimented today with a 4H Pencil and found the shading much easier than when I use a 2B.
Shen, I will raise that to a “nice work,” because you have moved beyond ‘try’ and now you have succeeded! Way to go! I particularly notice the way the lighter area underneath the eye is heavier than above the eye. It adds depth (mine was the same all the way around). You have given me an idea for the next time I draw any kind of animal…thank you for that!
Hello Nashville! Greetings from El Paso, Texas! I agree, these sessions are always fun,Betsy Byrne! I must tell you that I love the addition of the texturing along the back of your robins head and I find myself wondering…why didn’t I think of that!?

Thank you so much! I usually can barely draw a stick figure, so for my first session to be so relaxing and fun is incredible!
Key, you did more more than a stick figure this time around! Amazing job for your fist session. I love the shading. Will you be joining us again in July! We certainly hope so!
I’m so gald you enjoyed the session, Robert! We hope you will join us again in July. Your robin is perfect and the angle at which you drew his head, beak, and eye make him appear that he is looking off into the distance. It looks pretty cool!
