We’re humbled to say the feeling is mutual
I am writing to give a testimonial about Shivani’s 6 week art workshop, which I really enjoyed. It was beneficial in terms of learning technical skills and building confidence with art, but far more than this, it was a really effective way to de-stress.
(To share a bit of personal background, following some ill health since winter, I’ve had to give up my job and have become totally isolated, being housebound with chronic pain and mobility issues. A while ago I was asked by a doctor to name one thing I enjoy doing and couldn’t name a thing. I can now say this has changed thanks to the class. It’s reintroduced me into a hobby I used to enjoy but had been left on a dusty shelf for years and has given me an invaluable tool in helping myself.)
Shivani’s gentle and encouraging manner alleviated the worries I had about being able to keep up or produce something that looked a certain way. The short stories she gave at the start of the first sessions showed that the end product wasn’t the important bit, it was the process and frame of mind that mattered. I noticed this had an impact on me outside of the class too, being a bit more curious of the outside world again, having ideas, feeling creative again. It was a whole shift in thinking, which thanks to Shivani providing the inspiration, I was able to put into practice and grow each week.
Shivani kept things informal so that people could contribute as much or little as they wanted. I think we all felt well supported and she was excellent at both providing encouragement and at answering technical questions. The mood was relaxed, and I found the exercises, especially toward the end, very calming. It was clear however how much thought and planning had gone in behind the scenes including her ongoing response and openess to feedback.
I want to write and thank you for providing what has been a real lifeline for me. I have looked forward to these sessions each week. This class and your kindness has done more for me than you can know. The way you are giving up your own time to offer people this safe, healing and calm space, is wonderful and I am so grateful to you.

I really enjoyed the workshop. It was my first experience of using watercolors and I can confidently say that now I’m not avoiding them anymore. I know how to create simple but impressive paintings. The workshop was specifically designed to be a relaxing and stress-free environment, and it definitely delivered in that regard. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, and Shivani’s gentle guidance helped me to focus on the process of creating, rather than the end result.
I found that as I worked on my watercolor paintings, my mind began to slow down and my worries faded away. It was incredibly therapeutic and rejuvenating, and I left the workshop feeling refreshed and inspired.

I had such a wonderful time at the watercolor workshop with Shivani! Not only did I learn valuable techniques, but I also made new friends and felt so relaxed throughout the lesson. Shivani is an incredibly kind and warm teacher who always prepares different topics for each week, which made me look forward to every Tuesday night. Thank you so much for such a fantastic experience!
