I have to agree with you, L.C. and I have to tell you that it never occurred to me to frame my lavender! It’s as if you are looking out of a window into a beautiful garden! Your sketch captures the quiet beauty of the lavender perfectly!
Denece! That’s great to hear-I find myself becoming more comfortable with the shading each session I participate in as well. Your lavender is beautiful! Thank you for sharing it with us!

Thank you so much! My first session and it’s recognisably 3 stalls of lavender. Such a confidence boost 🙂
Melanie, you definitely captured the spirit of the lavender! Thank you for joining us today-I’m so happy you enjoyed your first session. We hope to see you again on August 10th!
Very nice, Tom! I’m so glad you took time to sketch with us today! You lavender tooks very peaceful and I appreciate the attention to the shading even in the stems. It looks great!
I look forward to them as well, Tara! Your lavender is spectacular! The shading makes it look so real…so 3D! I’ve never been able to master that skill!
It’s definitely worth thinking about Lyndsey, because you did a really nice job! Do you have a favorite “nature setting?” I love to sit in the forest and draw…it soothes my soul!
Ca Ling, we are so glad you could join us and we hope to see you again in August. I ♥️ the black paper with white sketch! What a unique take on it. I think I’m going to give that a try. I’m assuming it is gel ink? Was this your rough doodle or your final sketch?

I am with you on this one Shalini-so relaxing! We are happy that you could join us! I love your drawing-thank you for sharing it with the community. Were you using pencil today? Calming
do you draw purely from observation, instinctively or did you learn to draw them
Hi Annie, I draw a lot of from observation. I’ve found the mind often plays tricks on me when I draw from memory. Also, just the act of observing often helps me to focus and therefore switch off my mind and relax 🙂
Great work, Burcu! The shading on your leaves/petals make it look so realistic!

First time I draw flowers, I am proud of my self 🙂
I love the smell of lavender, so during the drawing session, I put a diffuser lavender organic essential oil in my safe space. Thank you so much Shivani !
I’m so happy that you feel a sense of pride-that means the world to me! I wonder, as you were working on your sketch, did the essential oil help enhance the experience? I’m thinking I may try that next time! What. lovely idea!

Thank you so much for your work with draw-your-stress-away, Shivani!
It was great having you at the session Marco. And I completely agree – it is okay that one stem is empty. I’d even say that stem with those words makes the whole drawing even more special! 🙂
Very nice, Karina! I appreciate the variation in the size of your lavender petals as it makes it look so much more realistic and authentic!

I added some colour and pen strokes to mine afterwards. I would’ve kept adding more, but sometimes you just have to tell yourself to stop before you go too far… 😬
Thank you both Shay and Shivani; looking forward to the next session! 💜
Haha, yes, sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in the moment and keep going for just a little too long. Your lavenders are lovely, especially with the layer of color!
I have found that sketching and drawing is a great help when I’m feeling anxious and overwhelmed-it’s actually what got me started attending Shivani’s sessions! That was over a year and a half ago!
Thank you for the kind words Ellie, it’s reminds me of how beautiful nature is and how a sketch can bring so much joy, happiness plus peace in a chaotic world.
